Kudos to Jason at Reliance Roofing & Waterproofing for earning this week's Safety Spotlight. Here's what Chris Kindley, our Safety Director, had to say about Jason: "Jason is a huge asset to Reliance. He has his hands in a little bit of everything and is very passionate about safety. He is very engaged in safety operations and isn't afraid to ask questions. Jason understands the importance of communicating and that is a huge key to success. Keep up the outstanding work!" We asked Jason a few questions about himself, his job, and safety: When I say the word safety what first comes to mind? My family. Tell me about your family. I am married to my lovely wife of 6 1/2 years, Kristen. Together we have a 2 1/2 year old son, Alexander. What did you do before coming to Reliance? I worked in the oilfield for 12 years. What are some of your hobbies? I love to fish and watch the Dallas Cowboys play football. If you could be anything at all, what would you be? I would love to be the President of my own company. What is something that most people don't know about you but you wish they did know? I have finally found a job that I enjoy waking up for and look forward to coming to work. I really enjoy that every day is different and challenges me to be a better person. I wouldn't change a thing...thank you Lenny Peters!!

  • Project Spotlight-Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club

Envision Glass and Triad Roofing Company are both proud to say they were a part of the Greensboro Salvation Army Corps Community Center and Boys and Girls Club project that was completed in July 2016. Landmark Builders was the General Contractor on the project. Landmark created a write-up on the project titled From the Ground Up that goes into detail about the work of The Salvation Army and highlights other details about the project. For Envision Glass, this project encompassed of a variety of products in our scope. For starters, we installed the standard thermally broken storefront system around the majority of the building. Additionally, we installed curtain walls at both the Salvation Army entrance and Boys & Girls Club entrance. We had segmented windows around a radius clerestory at the main lobby. A unique feature in this project was the very large cross that we built out of storefront and glass on a radius wall. This feature is located in the Chapel, the detail is highlighted in one of the photos on page 6 in the article by Landmark-the General Contractor on this project. All the doors on this project had custom electrified hardware that we supplied and installed. This hardware allows the doors to be programmed through access control technology to provide added security for the children inside. We installed interior storefront windows and framing in pretty much every interior office of the building that included custom aluminum frames to allow solid door doors to be installed on our frames. All the storefront, curtainwall, and doors on this project was a custom ‘Asti’ colored 3 coat kynar painted finish. The project started back in December of 2015 and we completed in June of 2016. Our crew on this project was Hugo Lopez, Gerson Amaya-Cruz, and Eber Olmedo. They did an excellent job and received high praise from the General Contractor on numerous occasions throughout the project. For Triad Roofing Company, this project consisted of 11 different roof areas. We installed .060 mechanically attached TPO single ply membrane over a metal deck using both flat and fully tapered insulation. The sheet metal work consisted of coping caps (both straight and radius), conductor heads, scuppers and downspouts, as well as a gutter system and accessories. This project certainly had its challenges. The first challenge was that a good part of the installation occurred over the winter months. Second, the different roof areas were ready for us at different times. The project lasted seven month for our team. Ultimately, we met our commitments and can proudly say that we completed our portion of the job on time and ahead of schedule.
